BRANLY (Édouard). 1844-1940. Physicist. - Lot 89
BRANLY (Édouard). 1844-1940. Physicist. B.A.S. "Edouard Branly". S.l., February 6, 1911. ½ page in-8. ... I am very grateful for your kind congratulations... In 1890, 120 years ago, Edouard Branly discovered radioconduction, a formidable innovation that would pave the way for radio. And 70 years ago, on March 24, 1940, the man still considered the father of the TSF died. A state funeral was organized, and for years his friends continued to honor his memory. Brilliant from an early age, this physicist, teacher, electrotherapist and relentless experimenter was a key figure in the history of science, who left his mark on the adventure of electricity and new technologies. Honored during his lifetime, a section of the Quai d'Orsay in Paris bears his name, and a museum is dedicated to him.
