BANVILLE (Théodore de) - Lot 54
BANVILLE (Théodore de) Born in Moulins (Allier). 1823-1891. Poet, playwright, precursor of Parnasse. L.A.S. "Théodore de Banville" to a friend. S.l.n.d. 1 p. in-12 and 1/3 p. in-8. Banville does not know where Philoxème lives, whom he never sees and about whom he has absolutely no idea ... where he frequents... Moreover, he sees no way of sending him the letter this friend tells him about. Théodore de Banville is considered one of the most illustrious poets of his time, and was friends with Victor Hugo, Charles Baudelaire and Théophile Gautier. Philoxème Boyer was a poet and enthusiastic disciple of Victor Hugo, like Banville, with whom he wrote Le Feuilleton d'Aristophane and Le Cousin du Roi in 1858. He died in 1867.
