Mazdatherma Irradiator
Metal lamp with two articulated arms
Label under the base
Height 52 cm.
"It activates the drying of the stockings washed each evening, warms the car engine in the garage in winter, warms the chicks on the farms". The Mazdatherma irradiator is an articulated luminaire designed by Compagnie des Lampes Mazda to facilitate the use - and therefore the sale - of an electric bulb "heating" up to 200 degrees.
It consists of a base with two articulated arms, and a special socket in which the infrared lamp is housed, protected from shocks by a metal grid attached to the socket.
In the 40s and 60s, the Mazda infrared lamp was used for therapeutic treatments, drying of all kinds, and localized heating in the home, as well as on sheep farms.
