We present here a set of six light wood tablets decorated with engraved and colored drawings depicting Sami folk myths or stories, carved by an artist who signs JP (probably JOHAN PEJOK). This collection was assembled in the early 1940s/1950s and partly transcribed into Swedish by Berndt Helleberg. The double-sided tablets are probably intended for passing on fairy tales to children. The configuration suggests that they were suspended, perhaps as a mobile or on the branches of a tree (?) to facilitate reading.
