Enigmatic pendant in the shape of a pallet or dish, flattene - Lot 246
Enigmatic pendant in the shape of a pallet or dish, flattened and with slightly raised edges and an asymmetrical cut.
The bottom is adorned with a set of twelve circular depressions, meticulously carved and organized in groups. The left-hand side features three horizontal oval depressions. These may represent the face of a deity, or perhaps that of the cosmos, or the celestial vault. The upper edge is pierced by two biconical suspension holes.
Nephrite-type stone, thick layer of European varnish.
Pre-Hispanic period. Mexico (?)
Dimensions: 15 x 10 x 2 cm.
