The face is adorned with tattoos or face paint and the torso bears scarification marks on the shoulders and shoulder blades. Lake Sentani region, Indonesian New Guinea, Melanesia. Wood with pigments. 20th century Height: 26.5 cm Provenance: Collected by a doctor stationed in Hollandia in the 1930s. Purchased by Frank Reiter (Berlin) from M. Blumberg of Berlin-Wildau in 1971.
