King's bodyguard saber, 2nd model. Handle in stingray with silver filigree. Gilt brass mounting, four-point hilt decorated with the Grandes Armes de France. Cloverleaf quillon stamped with Versailles and double stamp (including Pion). Flat-backed curved blade, engraved "Manufre Rale du Klingenthal Octobre 1814", with hollow sides engraved with trophies of arms, radiant face, fleurs-de-lis and "GARDES DU CORPS DU ROI", hallmarked at the heel. Iron scabbard with brass cap decorated with acanthus leaves (screw missing, small accident), two bracelets and ball stinger. Length: 110.5 cm. A.B.E. (wear and minor oxidation). Restoration period.
