Vishnu head in beige sandstone, India, Uttar Pradesh, 10th-12th century The face is serene, with almond-shaped eyes half-closed beneath arched eyebrows, and full lips smiling. The ears are adorned with earrings. The wavy, back-combed hair shows a few curls on either side of the forehead. The head is crowned with a beaded headdress flanked by three cruciform motifs surmounted by a flame and dominated by an architectural headdress. Socled. H: 12 - W: 10 cm Accident to the nose, missing parts.
