Set of three yari, Japanese spears, Japan Edo period. - Lot 174
Set of three yari, Japanese spears, Japan Edo period. - The first with an iron sankaku yari blade with three sides and a throat. Yari saya in lacquered wood imitating the shape of a Daikoku mallet. Wooden shaft inlaid with aogai (mother-of-pearl). - The second is a three-pointed iron magari yari with a black lacquered wooden yari saya with an ishime background. Wooden shaft inlaid with aogai. - The third with a short suyari blade with a legible suguha temper line. Yari saya in black tataki nuri lacquered wood. Wooden shaft inlaid with aogai. (The mother-of-pearl is missing and the upper part is damaged). H. 199 cm, 216.5 cm and 330.5 cm. Provenance : Edric van Vredenburgh Collection Private collection, Paris
